My weekly hike this week was in up north! I went for an evening hike/walk to Ulistac Natural Area in Santa Clara. This California landscape is 41 acres, it is a flat hike there are no inclines. If you are into bird watching this is a hike I highly recommend because there are several viewing points as well as random bird houses spread throughout the landscape.

I began my hike at 3:30 p.m.. Although the sun was still out there was a nice breeze coming in, constant cloud coverage, and some parts of this hike were shaded. This natural area is really big so even if there are a lot of cars the chances of bumping into someone are low. Everyone walks their own trails and there are many paths to take, some allow you to be closer to the plants too.

Dogs are allowed on a leash, there are no trash cans throughout the trail so keep in mind to carry your trash and your dogs restroom duties.
Stay hydrated and alert for coyotes and poison oak!

The green area is the whole natural area, really cool thing about this hike is that it connects to the Guadalupe Trail. That runs through a big part of the city and it is right along the Guadalupe River. Parking is free, it's street parking and you can park all along Lick Mill Blvd.
